Hello Everyone,
I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Ken, 26 years old, originally from Long Island, and I work for the federal government in Washington D.C. We are playing around with XML and RSS to encapsulate data and information, and my boss thought it would be useful if I plunged myself into the frigid, icy North (It's going to be 110 degrees in DC this week) to expand my markup horizons.
This is my first conference (and first business trip), so I am eager to meet people and learn. I am going alone, so if anyone is in the same boat, and is interested in meeting up at night for dinner, let me know.
Ken

Poutin
I am going to show my naivete and submit myself to
ridicule - what is Poutine - sounds like an Extreme
talk -- What is Poutine and Why Should I Care |-)
Although I did have a Quebec specialty Smoked Meat
Sandwich and was surprised to find it is close too or
the same thing as Pastrami.
Enquiring minds want to know - was the Rueben Sandwich
invented at Rueben's on Saint's Catherine's?

Montreal is not frigid in August
I enjoy finding Montreal restaurants, as you can tell.
Anything below 100 degrees is a welcome relief
And thank you for the food links. I need to find some good poutine.
Poutine
Well, the poutine at MacDonalds (!!!) is awful. In fact, I've never had good poutine, so this would be an interesting research project.
Poutine
Good Poutine is not hard to find, but MacDonalds is not the place. Look in any good greasy spoon. If construction workers eat lunch there, there are fresh cheese curds on the menu, and the menu is short, that's the place. (By good I mean Poutine that tastes good. There is no such thing as healthly Poutine.)

Sounds like a nice lunchtime expotition
I have to confess, though, that I know of no good poutine in the downtown area. Sounds more like a Plateau thing.
